Jewish learning is lifelong. At Temple Anshe Hesed, we make it fun!! Events are held on Sunday mornings or evenings periodically throughout the year.
Adult education at the Temple is ambitious and diverse, offering something for everyone. All events stimulate and encourage the adult students’ appetite for knowledge of Jewish religious and cultural history, theology, worship, literature, music, the arts, and Hebrew language. Some programs also involve current events, geopolitics, and contemporary controversies in Judaism. Other programs share themes and are done in cooperation with the children’s religious school curriculum.
All this and refreshments are served, too! Programs are open to the public.
Shabbat Morning Service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. and precedes Torah Study, an informal discussion of the weekly Parashat.
From time to time, the Temple offers study groups on a variety of subjects which are explored from a Jewish perspective. The subjects are selected by those wishing to attend and they provide an opportunity to explore issues from a spiritual, ethical or religious viewpoint. All are welcome to attend, including non-Temple members. These classes are run by lay leaders and allow us to delve into our own perceptions and those of others. Past participants have found the discussions to be stimulating and interesting and to provide insight on Jewish ethics, morality and spiritual values.
